OpenAI CEO Sam Altman predicts that super-intelligence, a form of AI surpassing human intelligence, could emerge within a few thousand days, potentially transforming society and employment

Superintelligence could solve complex problems like climate change and cure cancer

However, it may also disrupt job markets by automating tasks traditionally performed by humans. some jobs may vanish, new roles will emerge, focusing on creativity and oversight of AI systems.

Start prepping.

I wish we could ban it...take me back to the 90s y'all

I cannot believe I’m alive and talking to smart people about this and so many seem to see the scary future I see… can’t believe how many don’t even want to talk about it???

I am already suspect if he says it is going to solve climate change. 😂 that is code for don’t ask too many questions and just trust the scientists. How about we focus on saving the humans? The planet will be here long after we are gone.

Hmmm not sure about those new roles emerging, they still have not arrived as promised when we offshored the lion share of the top jobs to the East. Its hard to be optimistic knowing we might soon be reinforcing a proven dystopian concept. Those new jobs that was promised could not be defined then and they cant be defined now. I just cant see a win win situation on these developments in my mind, just saying!

I suggest everyone read Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom and Human Compatible by Stuart Russel to understand the problems we potentially face. Things are about to go crazy. Whoever gets to AGI/ASI first is going to be god like - what if it’s China not USA? Which company would you be happy with ideology wise to hold this kind of power - Google or Elon for example? There are some very serious questions needing answered right now around how and who gets to benefit from this and what exactly it is used for. https://www.amazon.com/Superintelligence-Dangers-Strategies-Nick-Bostrom/dp/0198739834 https://www.amazon.com/Human-Compatible-Artificial-Intelligence-Problem/dp/0525558616

Become acquainted with Natural Intelligence, which is innate, the same as Truth, deeper than the surface mind/ego, deeper than any artificial intelligence. Read, reflect on, and practice Self-knowing, read the Vedas, or Self-inquiry teachings, or other faiths or traditions if you are drawn in that direction. Whatever teachings, great literature, social or political philosophy, that reveal, and thereby free us, of assumptions are more valuable than any technological advancements, which on the whole mostly entrance and further obscure simplicity of life, wholesomeness, subduing of the surface mind. Check out 'The Social Crisis of Our Time' (1941) by Wilhelm Ropke. A highly relevant work for understanding the deeper crisis internal to Western civilization. The intro on through chapter one proves its quality; Ropke calls for a 'Third Way' that rises above the left-right opposition paradigm, which is not new, and the fruitless choices of laissez-faire or collectivism. What there is, is Truth or Self or Silence, not to be 'gained' , as it always is, but to be directly known by removing what obscures it. Inquiry removes ignorance. All the AI developments do not discuss what already is being largely ignored, that real knowledge is Self knowledge, which involves quest and practice and which is not at all the same as dogma, mere belief, or ordinary understanding. This is what I have found helpful and actionable in relation to all these technological developments.

I get that!.... Maybe can start with a 'Cell phone free day'. Where people put down their phones, look around and talk more to some actually present others. Would be a cool movement. One day a month.

I'm going to choose to be optimistic. War is stupid, lets hope that this new super intelligence will stop war everywhere. I'm also hoping governments use it to make better decisions. Maybe this super intelligence will come up with a better form of government, what we have now globally is insane and unethical.

Altman seems like another globalist puppet. In high school I understood CO2 was plant food. It has nothing to do with climate. Just google what effects climate, results: salting our skies (chem Trails), sun spot activity, cloud cover, earth tilt and wabble, etc. CO2 has no effect on climate, but has tremendous effect on gaining control and taxing us out of existence.

I don't understand how people think this will be a technology that we will all use :)) This is not something that's developed for us to thrive, this will be used against us by the same people/companies that rule the world atm. I'd be glad to be wrong and that this new technology favors the masses and the nature.
