Rule Du Jour #15: #15 Desperation Means Danger! aka The Stoic Investor's Advantage

"In turbulent markets, calm is your greatest asset."

Stay composed when others panic.

Remember:

  • Desperation breeds costly mistakes

  • Wealth accumulates gradually, not overnight

  • Market seasonality is key, do not turn up late to the party and if you do - do NOT YOLO in!

  • Patience always outperforms impulsive action. Rem I am about 9% cash, am I desperate to blow it? No, I will wait for the right time and I also fine being 9% cash given my much Leverage is in my accounts.

Embrace stoicism in your investing approach. Let others act on emotion while you act on reason. Your portfolio will thank you in the long run.

James and family. When are we taking profits? You discuss layer in and layer out? I'm feeling like many of us could take some profits this week on investments that are up 50 to 100 percent. Thoughts?

Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius are my favorite “dead white guys”. Hearts to all Stoics in this community.

Have them in your Audible Library and listen to them once a year.

Yes, great post! Too many ppl either forget this, never put it into practice or just think it’s a stupid “boomer” idea.
