Despite what you hear, Solar energy is experiencing rapid growth due to increasing environmental concerns, falling costs of photovoltaic technology, and supportive government policies. Plus the intermittent nature of solar power necessitates efficient energy storage solutions to ensure a stable and reliable power supply. Tesla is uniquely positioned in this market, leveraging its expertise in both solar technology and battery storage systems

The company's integrated approach, combining solar panels with its Powerwall home battery system, offers a comprehensive solution for residential and commercial customers. If Tesla didn't exist, i would be invested in other solar and energy storage projects

Shout out to the folks in the community here who work on both - we have a few

There is a lot of research going into fusion and small scale nuclear facilities. I think in the future, that will grow as well.

Rolls Royce have already developed this tech and the reports are that 4-5 shipping container sized reactors buried around a large city like London/New York will be all that is needed. Still some work to do but definitely has a bright future

Despite Tesla being a pioneer in Powerwall, ENPH is way better. They have disrupted the industry with the micro inverter. Tesla has an old design. Also, I don’t think Tesla will develop their Solar business at the same speed as they will prioritize use of batteries for cars, robots and Megapacks. Conclusion: I prefer investing in ENPH (or Fluence for the Megapacks competition) to play Solar or BESS

Energy business alone will drive Tesla price to many X from here.

Chewie

ENPH for solar panels is better but Tesla with Megapacks is so far ahead of everyone else. Powerwall and batteries for cars next. That's where the big money is.

Chewie

Tesla Megapacks is unrivalled and that's where the big money is.

Nah, the cost benefits in a country as Holland and our corrupt government makes me stay away from this and many like me. Tax benefits almost gone and ROI is like 10-15 years. I rather buy btc and say tesla vs gamble on return on the green lie and our government.

Unfortunately in The Netherlands you have to pay for the electricity that you generated but did not use...

Something I will pay more attention to. 👍🏼

wall street doesn't value anything from Tesla other than cars, wonder how price can go up if the big money doesn't care about other products from Tesla.

Just got my system activated in CA. 12kw in panels with two Powerwall 3s. With electricity rates it's an easy decision. 0 down, loan payment is cheaper than electricity bill was. Have whole home backup with the Powerwalls. Batteries are a necessity now with our utilities new net metering, where they don't pay very much for what you contribute to the grid. So better to charge batteries during day to use at night, and can configure the app to send power to grid when the price is justified during peak.

Can you give a rough estimate of what it cost? Square footage, solar roof or panels?
