Expensive in UK too, I think the high costs of care and high cost of living in general is contributing to declining birth rates. So few 20/30 yrs old can afford a home to even start a family, it now takes 2 incomes in UK to do so, wheras before I was born 1 income could support a family and a mortgage. I'm going to have to be a working mum and old one at that but I've accepted this fate. 🤣

I am sorry but this is prioritising career over children and they are paying the price. My wife has been criticised many times for not working and being dependent on me in the early years of our children’s development. We stuck through it, homeschooled and 10 years ago we started a business venture for my wife. There are other avenues without outsourcing your children to daycare. Your kids will thank you for it, they need their mom in the early development years. There is nothing better than a mom in the home. Our society has been sold a lie and we fell hooks line and sinker for the lie!

It's all over the world and its backfiring greatly. The Gen-Z's said to hell with a family and a child. Look up "Lie Flat" movement

Yes, child care costs are outrageous along with housing and health care costs. We have 2 children under 4 and my wife stayed home when they were born and worked 1 day on the weekend per diem allowing her to take care of the kids while I worked full time during the week. We figured there’s no point to have daycare with 2 children and having her work full time which then the money from her job would then just pay for the child care only so it didn’t make sense. We were able to make it through and now she works weekends and I watch the kids. It works for us and the kids get both of use during the week.

i don't understand this child care thing, where i came from WHEN you're ready to have babies, at least ONE parent stays home nurturing the baby. I HAVE Q: U VOLUNTARILY OK WITH RELEASING YOUR PRECIOUS ONE TO STRANGER?

HEY DON'T WORRY KAMELEON HARRIS WILL PAY FOR YOUR CHILD CARE. IDIOT!

Which universe have you been living in? If one parent's salary was enough to maintain a home, the other parent would stay home. Where I came from, $$$$ is the main reason both parent have to work. Maybe your church can start a charity to help these families so that only one parent has to work.

I think the future hosing numbers (to own your own home) will greatly eclipse the above prices. In the future what may determine if your middle class is IF your can afford to own your own home. With interest rates, property taxes and insurance most younger people won't be able to. My own children are already expressing these fears and they all have above average paying jobs. Very sad.

Hell in a hand basket. Good luck, Citizens!

When my children were young I worked and my wife was home raising kids. She worked every other weekend. Today if a woman can work and make over $65k they can get still ahead, personal choices.

Luckily I make enough for my wife to stay at home and take care of my three boys!!!
