The S&P 500 fell after the Fed cuts rates by 25 basis points, because inflation forecast is higher. ie they did not quash inflation - also as expected.

The Fed reduced their outlook from 3 to 2 rate cuts in 2025 and raised inflation expectations from 2.1% to 2.5%. I think Trump will have a say in that.

Key to cutting Inflation is cutting rates... JOB market is a real mess.

The news from the FED wasn't so bad, but the massive sell off from stocks and crypto is concerning. It's like the markets are on edge at all times and looking for any reason to collapse. Is this an early sign that we are heading for a major crash? I'm trying to understand whether this manic behavior is a signal for something more serious. Thoughts?

it's only 1 year that I'm in the investment game, but boy it seems so true what I heard so many time: "ignore short-term noise and stick to long-term plan". Markets are "maniac" all the time. To me markets appear incredibly irrational and impulsive in the short-term. One "wrong" word or "alarming" prediction and down goes the market. Then 3 days later evrybody calms down and up again we go! So my 2 cents are not to worry, the future looks bright!

Word of warning. There is chatter about bird flu and m pox. They’re using gain of function on these and there has already been warnings about state level outbreaks. It’s a black swan.

My interpretation is that the fed is saying there will not be a btc reserved as they are not allowed to hold it according to law and they are not looking at changing the law. James - any thoughts on that?

There is no emergency provision to delay the inauguration of an elected president. There are no significant signs that any flu or pox outbreaks have the velocity to cause a public health crisis. Respectfully, please refrain from posting this kind of unsubstantiated BS on our forum.

Trump will bring down energy prices by drilling. He will lift all the regulatory BS that has caused inflation. The FED will pivot hard next year when they are forced by the markets to do so just like they raised them up in historic fashion last year. They will have no choice but to lower in record fashion as new more efficiency policy comes back to the world. Thank you President Trump

Jerome Powell might as well come in singing "I came in like a wrecking ball" to the markets.... If banks are too big to fail then the fed must be globally too big to fail.... disrupting its control is going to be a hard fight over the next several years.
