Probably wasn't the smartest thing for James to do to introduce perp trading to this board. Feels like a fair percentage aped in and lost their ass. The whole "this isn't financial advice" is a farce. The majority on here trying their best to replicate everything he says with none of the sophistication. Happy I never went the perp route.

Does anyone know what model/models James suggests for somewhat beginners? I’ve been using the DCAS to build my bag but looking to spend a little more time in the market and would like some help on when to take profits. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I take full responsibility for the mistakes I make. For me, however, it was the lack of communication between entry and exit that stings a bit. I really felt like I was fighting for my life all by myself, grasping for any info I could find (and obviously learning as I went). I missed the exit of the first and was dragged into the next. I won’t be perping again (I lost over 6 figures CDN today—four years of work—because I am the BIGGEST idiot in the world, and that’s on me, but I was a little disappointed to be so in the dark. I felt like we could expect updates (as James so often offers), but realized quickly that I was treading solo (as it should be, I suppose). In the end, though, I am my own lifesaver and I let myself drown. I learned about 12 life-changing lessons this month, so at least there’s that. Please be kind with the responses… I’m about as low as I’ve ever been and have punished myself enough. Need to get my Santa head straight for a six year old little girl, but wanted to share in case anyone else is feeling the grief/regret/remorse. We’ll be ok. Right? 💕

You are totally right James, sometimes the best way to get our kids interested is to force them to jump in by giving them a little stack! My daughter had zero interest in finance, and I gave her 1 BTC in 2017 for that Xmas ( bought at around 2000usd earlier). She was not thrilled at first (she would have preferred a designer bag!), but then she saw it go wild over Xmas 2017, and actually got into the whole crypto thing. Can you believe she never sold it until last month..to buy a Tesla model Y to go to her first job? She actually also opened a Robinhood account in 2018 and nibbled her way into buying and a second BTC with her savings from walking dogs and dogsitting while studying at UChicago. So proud of her! Her financial awakening just took that 1 Xmas present, and did not need any long speeches or lectures.

Great Video, James. Even when the market is shaky, you keep us up to date. I realise now that when the markets are shaky/bearish are the most important times to watch your videos. You've taught me to run into burning (high conviction) buildings - something I don't think i'd learn anywhere in the world. Legend.

I’m 58 so I think I’m just gonna hold lots of spot, not get fancy and have an easier life than trying to do options or perps. Work at a job I enjoy for six months of the year and go wing foiling and sailing in the warmth for four. Each of us has to find the right balance for us.

So sad to hear James call Reuters "fake news" when they are consistently rated unbiased, trustworthy, and unopinionated. Now I have to take what James says with an extra grain of salt, although I guess I should do that anyway.
