Big changes are coming. No doubt about that. I am keeping tabs on how we need to skill up and prepare. This will be first in a series of what I call AI IMPACT!

Some believe we could be witnessing "the biggest wealth shift in history" ie it is imp to be on the right side of economic changes driven by AI technology. Like Bitcoin, AI could redistribute wealth by automating jobs, potentially leading to increased productivity and economic output, or it might concentrate wealth further if the benefits of AI are not equitably distributed.

There are numerous claims that AI agents will replace 800 million jobs around the world by 2034 - from McKinsey! It's based on the premise that many tasks currently performed by humans could be automated.

AI will spur the addition of $19.9 trillion to the global economy, as mentioned by IDC! But who gets that wealth we shall see. I know I have hinted we all need to own a fleet of Robotaxis, or Bots, or other AI services ... akin to owning apt buildings in teh past.

SOme say "Your 9-5 will be extinct" - as I have been hinting at for a long time. I believe the future will be more gig like - small projects - full time employment 9-5 is kind of redundant excuse the pun. While some traditional 9-5 jobs might disappear, others will likely evolve or new ones will emerge. The nature of work will change and so will the terms.

Which jobs will be in demand? Key Roles Through 2030:

  • Health Professionals and Health Aides, Technicians, and Wellness: Both categories show a significant 30% growth in labor demand, indicating a strong future for healthcare-related jobs. This growth is driven by an aging population and advancements in medical technology.

  • STEM Professionals: Expected to grow by 23%, reflecting the increasing importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in driving innovation and solving complex problems.

  • Builders: This category, which likely includes construction and related trades, shows a 12% growth, possibly due to infrastructure development and urban expansion.

  • Managers: An 11% growth suggests a continued need for oversight, leadership, and strategic planning in various sectors.

  • Creatives and Arts Management: Also growing by 11%, this reflects a demand for creative skills in content creation, design, and cultural management, areas less susceptible to complete automation.

  • Property Maintenance: A 10% growth, indicating ongoing needs in real estate management and maintenance services.

Which ones are shrinking? Roles potentially Impacted by AI:

  • Production Work: A slight decline of -1%, suggesting that manufacturing jobs might see a reduction due to automation.

  • Food Services: A -2% decline, indicating that roles in this sector might be automated or replaced by technology like self-service kiosks.

  • Customer Service and Sales: A significant -13% decline, likely due to AI chatbots, online sales platforms, and automation in customer interaction.

  • Office Support: Shows the largest decline at -18%, as many administrative tasks can be automated with software.

Much more on this to come... time to start prepping...
