This is very misleading. The Republicans wanted the Debt Limit raised to push out the next debt limit vote where Democrats use the deadline to force their leftwing spending down Republicans throats using a debt crisis as leverage. The long term debt is not taking into consideration a lot of DOGE cuts and the increased GDP Elon has projected.
