This will be the real-life pilot scheme, to evaluate successes and challenges. Of course the standards expected will be near perfection and so much higher than 'average' human driving skills and accident rates. Even without the haters and those looking to make political mischief, trying to deliberately spoil real progress here. Elon & Co are going to need to apply all the lessons they have learned from human bad behaviour, more than the technological advances, to push through the next big obstacles to progress.
