Lately, the world seems full of wild events and tension, with countries flexing their muscles. One big reason might be that the U.S. government sees China controlling most of the special minerals we need for things like weapons, electric cars, and radar. USA never really cared before, but now different players are advising the White House,,, perhaps these critical minerals have now become a National Security Issue!

China’s always plans 20 years ahead, and now they’ve got a tight grip on these critical minerals. Why are they important>? These raw materials needed to produce key building blocks of modern militaries and economies, from semiconductors to radars and electric-vehicle batteries. Without them you are pretty much toast in this modern world.

That could explain why there’s talk about the U.S. trying to get access to key minerals in places like Greenland, or access some in Ukraine, etc

Everyone’s now focused on these minerals. China’s the boss when it comes to digging up and refining the stuff that powers modern armies and economies—like the chips in your phone or the batteries in cars. The U.S. has tried bringing some of that production back home, but it’s slow going. Building new mines and factories costs a ton, takes forever, and stirs up environmental trouble. Plus, China can just tweak their output to keep prices where they want them, making it tough to compete.

We shall see how all this plays out but I see this is causing much of the consternation right now!

US has enough rare minerals

El Terrifico

As far as I know, Rare earths arent rare, its just we cant dig without permits etc and China controls the price, so cost/feasibility of all this labour is a problem.
