Wild idea... some may have thrown it around but what if this was used to buy Bitcoin for the SBR with "zero impact" on taxpayers and the deficit, the government would need to use the tariff revenue directly for this purpose without diverting funds from other budgetary needs or increasing borrowing.

Allocating $700 billion to buy Bitcoin for an SBR would require Congressional approval, as the government cannot unilaterally redirect such a large sum. Given the polarized political climate as of 2025, this would face significant opposition so odds are small but who knows. I know they are prob thinking about the how and not the if!

I’d question the numbers. It’s important to have a critical thinking mindset, the assumption or numbers based on a hypothetical situation where tariffs don’t influence anything else in the economy. Pretty much impossible and blindsided view, need to zoom out tarifs are paid by the American workers and consumers, affects the imports and exports, relationships with other countries, which a bunch of net producers of ressources and cheaper labor which affects how much Americans pay for goods and services. Beware of inflation and high unemployment this will cause

Hardly zero impact on taxpayers who'll be paying higher prices all whilst other countries return DTs tariffs on the import of US goods. C'mon do better.

When new Orleans flooded, US bought tonnes of Canadian lumber. So when this happens again... you will pay 25 percent more...or the insurance company will and everyone's rates will go up or they won't even insure you anymore. True story

Tariffs result in inflation , interest rates go up no? Quantitative tightening again , what am I missing.

Doubt it. They will use the tariff income to replace (or at least significantly reduce) income taxes.
