I just wrapped up a three-day water fast, in funzies news (as Jacob would say) I actually went over as I do like to over achieve..... hit 75 hours... and it was quite the experience! The first 36 hours were definitely the toughest—cutting out coffee cold turkey brought on some serious caffeine withdrawal symptoms. However, I like a challenge. Let’s just say, I wasn’t exactly my best self during that stretch, I had some brain fog during live videos, eg DCA, April Fools, but once I got past that initial hurdle, things took a surprising turn for the better.

Staying busy turned out to be my secret weapon. By keeping myself occupied, I managed to avoid obsessing over food (though I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have moments of temptation—last night, I couldn’t stop imagining a big bowl of pasta with garlic bread!). Still, I stuck with it and powered through.

This morning, I woke up feeling surprisingly clear-headed, turbo energized, and not at all hungry. Honestly, I could’ve extended the fast for another two days easily if I wanted to. But after three days of nothing but water, I decided it was time to break the fast gently. My plan? Tonight, start with some edamame and maybe a little tofu—keeping it simple and nourishing. And a veggie roll....

Overall, it was not at all as challenging as I expected. Literally, I could do this weekly. But I am a little extreme. This will break many people so talk to your Dr before trying..... . It gave me a new perspective on food, our bodies, our system and how much time we spend thinking about it. We need to respect the magic of our mechanism more... it is unreal. It self heals, it adapts, it copes. Would I do it again? I will defo but I would like to measure stuff, HR, BP, Glucose Etc.

SUMMARY

  • I slept the best I have in years - I normally sleep 4 to 5 hours a day

  • I lost 5 KG - over 10 lbs in 3 days

  • Complexion looks good

  • I drove 4 hours today on the fast so the brain works - well not really but I did drive in the Snow so that was me and NOT FSD

but for now, I’m just excited to enjoy my next meal! I do enjoy eating

My wife does 12 day fasts and uses good Canadian maple syrup for energy, electrolytes and minerals.
