This post claims that S&P Global, the world's largest credit rating agency, has reported that other countries will likely follow the U.S. in buying Bitcoin if the U.S. decides to do so. This is framed as "nation-state FOMO" (Fear Of Missing Out), suggesting a potential global rush to adopt Bitcoin at a governmental level.

If true, we will see game theory like no other.

As far as I can tell it’s from a Reuters report when the reserve was announced, and falls FAR short of a “report”: "The significance of this executive order is mainly symbolic, as it marks the first time Bitcoin is formally recognized as a reserve asset of the United States government," said Andrew O'Neill, digital assets managing director at S&P Global Ratings. "The reserve will only include Bitcoin already owned by the US government," O'Neill said, adding that "there is no indication yet of how much, if any, would be acquired nor a timeline."
