The debt is a good tool to keep Poor people enslaved. I’ve never taken debt out on anything fun like cars, vacations, or luxury goods. But my SO and I have over 160K in student loan debt at 6.125% for our education degrees that pay next to nothing. The interest alone is unmanageable for our incomes. I’ve picked up side work on weekends but it’s still not enough to make a noticeable dent. I know everyone says how stupid we are, hence we took the loans we will pay them back, but the entire thing was predatory. They recommend we take tons of extra classes to help us land jobs but in reality they just wanted us to pay for more useless classes to hand our money to the university. It’s kind of ironic because my friend that didn’t take student loans always tells me how pissed he would be if they gave any assistance to borrows meanwhile he received over $120,000 from a PPP loan which he didn’t have to pay a cent back. He bought a turbo charged side by side and a boat load of guns with the money while traveling and didn’t pay a dime back but the students need to pay back every cent. It’s funny how reality works like that!
