Humans are fickle as is sentiment.

This is why I blaze my own trail—I stay data-driven, and that’s why I was NEVER spooked by the tariffs. From day one, I said it was all about negotiation, and the team in the administration are the best allocators and financiers I’ve ever seen in the White House. They’re not going to mess this up. And as proof, after everything we’ve been through, the S&P 500 is only 2.5% away from all-time highs while people were calling for a worst crash since 1987 and a 40% market correction...... hah!

Now, that being said, I’ll tell you: this whole recession talk is nonsense. There’s always a recession happening somewhere—there’s always a state in recession, always an industry in recession. Painting with a broad brush is nonsense. It’s like buying an ETF or an index and thinking you understand every part of it.

This market is only a success, in my opinion, when the 10Y is lower. Continuing fiscal dominance but redirecting “wins” to your base instead of the other side is sensible but not innovative. And it isn’t providing the deficit reduction that the 10Y wants, so debt remains expensive. Remember, the bottom 50% don’t own assets, just debt as Bessent was messaging after Liberation Day. Maybe we grow GDP faster than the deficit. Cool, that’s the play book the previous administration was already running. So, meh?
