Tesla Autopilot crushes U.S. average in safety stats after 9 billion miles!

Accidents per system:

• Tesla w/ FSD during 9 billion miles: 1,506

• Tesla w/o FSD during 9 billion miles: 6,864

• U.S. Average during 9 billion miles: 18,367

• FSD Supervised Prevented: 16,861 car crashes at least... it saved me from 2 multi-car pileups in very poor heavy rain visibility. It also helped me see a homeless pedestrian who was wearing all black in the dead of nite.

Mr. Paradise

I’m always interested in the Sources of the Data… I mean the real Source and not Only the Twitter Account. Where are the Numbers coming from? from Tesla, Musk himself, or some study from the US Traffic-Büro etc.?

Mike

The stats are not as pretty as suggested. Apparently, they only looked at accidents on highways, whereas most accidents happen on local roads. Take a look at this documentary that paints a quite different and disturbing picture of Autopilot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dii5jnZMAHQ (use auto translate to English subtitles). Many Autopilot users complaining/registering (near) accidents when driving with Autopilot. Things like 'phantom braking' occur, where a Tesla on Autopilot suddenly brakes unnecessarily. See timestamp 37:00 in the YouTube video where a Tesla in California suddenly brakes for no reason, causing loads of vehicles crashing behind him.
