FedChair Jerome Powell has repeatedly described the labor market as “solid” and “broadly in balance,” and I repeatedly mock him.... the Data Lies... he needs better data. He has no clue what is coming.

FFWD to this chart above... the statistic from the Glassdoor Employee Confidence Index indicates that employee confidence in their job outlook has dropped like a stone, reaching an all-time low of 44.11% in May 2025. This means that only 44.11% of employees reported having a positive outlook for the next six months. Chart shows a general upward trend in confidence from 2016 (around 47%) to a peak of 55.59% around 2021-2022, followed by a sharp decline into 2025.

We now have the worst ever pessimism among employees about their job security and future prospects.

In tech, deeply connected - consulting firms, large insurance/banks, and small firms are all laying people off and cutting hours. Has been going on for months. You don't hear about this in the news, but you can see it in the glassdoor data. JP and team are completely oblivious. They are going to go from "everything's fine" to "emergency cuts"

I agree true. 1 day at a time. Nothing will surprise me at this point regarding the employer. It's like America is becoming a country where we live day to day. Hard to plan save and invest with that sentiment.
