Today is triple witching and that means weirdness.

The weak tesla action can be easily explained.

This chart displays the "Max Pain" for Tesla (TSLA) options expiring on June 20, 2025. "Max Pain" is the strike price at which the largest number of options (both calls and puts) expire worthless, causing the maximum financial loss to options holders and the least payout from options sellers (often market makers). aka Market Makers need to keep price as close to $300 as possible.

Thank you James and team for this - this is exactly why I just buy and hold.. the level of manipulation is way beyond my awareness.. I was wondering why the price has been like this today

Interesting. The chart appears to be mislabeled; shouldn’t green be “call: max profit” (as the market price approaches $900, call options, which presumably have strike prices well below that, become increasingly profitable) and the orange be “put: max profit” (as the market price approaches $0, put options, which presumably have strike prices well above that, become increasingly profitable)? And then the middle of the chart around the market price of $300 is where both green and orange bars are lowest, i.e. the price point of minimal profit (maximum loss/pain).
