The old school heads of big tech are going whole hog into AI - think Larry Ellison Oracle and Mark Benioff - former Oracle and founded Salesforce.

This statement was quite profound... HALF or all WORK!!!! HALF. . I do not yet know the shift in labor dynamics but I am willing to wager a Bitcoin that hiring has slowed dramatically!

Expect to see some HUGE Upside Profit Surprises from all companies that really started leaning into AI... Second Half 2025 could be bonkers - Recession be damned.

So what will people do next? Cathie Wood had a great answer on Diary of a CEO: be your own investment professional. Learn and participate in the market. What we all are doing rn thanks to James.

As a Salesforce Partner, I would call it BS. Or maybe the reason it's taking weeks to close any support case.

If that’s the case, margins should be expanding…..

My daughter-in-law works a at dentist office in insurance. They are having big issues with AI not allowing claims on people's insurance that is basic claims. It's giving them a big headache right now.

As ex-Salesforce (2006-2019) I would say this is more marketing than truth.

That is exactly what I am thinking. I work at a huge Fortune 20 that is more about AI than a lot of companies (we even have entire AI departments that analyze workflows and processes). We have been known to hire people from very prominent AI companies to work on and build our own internal AI products and we are nowhere near this amount. AI tends to go off the rails and is great at tricking people. I do not understand how they could possibly remove half of their staff, especially this early on and at a company that size.

Wouldn't all the layoffs cause a recession? Especially if the economy is 70% consumer driven?

My best friend works for salesforce. Life is hard !! If you are still there, your job is under pressure of being moved to India, or you have to perform at an amazing pace. I believe life in India, will have the same percussions in a year or two

I agree on the comments about being mostly marketing. They appear to be going through a rebranding exercise AI force or something like that. Also I think the most likely context is that current employees are “using AI 50% of their time” to speed up the things that used to take much more time. Also agree - in the enterprise at least AI (LLMs) are still in their infancy. More to come for sure, but they are not doing 50% of work autonomically. #wallstreetinvestorcalls IMHO.

Seems that the over use of capitalization and multiple exclamations is catching....
