Jobs report shattered expectations.... strange as I see many other signs that are not so positive.

For example, Microsoft is about to lay off another 8,000 people on July 2. That’s 14,000 jobs gone in 2 months…

Another example AI Layoffs have begun.

Is this the one they always adjust a few weeks later? Where they announce x jobs, then a few weeks is far less than what is reported.

I heard Microsoft is culling jobs, yet increasing their H1B requests. Not sure if the rumors are true but pretty shady if so.

I find this hard to believe. I use ChatGPT for work and it still can’t accurately pull references or even quotes from a document

What types of jobs and average pay? Of course, they don't say that. Likely cuts to high paying jobs then adding Uber and 7-11 jobs.

Same here. I usually just use chat gpt as a quicker form of search because otherwise it gets things wrong. Maybe these companies were going to cut jobs anyway but they are saying it's due to AI so they look good.

I wonder if governments putting adds up using ai so that identity can’t be seen and support the narrative they want to push. Perhaps it is similar to inflation figures. All good but did not include debasement
