Tariff Trigger

I’ve tracked copper for decades—traded it back in the ’90s. With all the talk around the electrification of everything, I always wondered: Why is copper still so cheap?

Turns out, the recent spike wasn’t driven by green energy demand.

It was tariffs that lit the fuse.

And Rem it all comes from Chile

I have always heard the copper price showed the pulse of the manufacturing economy, if not the health of the entire economy. What impact would tariffs and a much higher copper price have on this? What's the thinking behind driving up the price of copper?

Back to aluminum wiring in homes, because all the copper will be stolen.
