USA is doing it all wrong..America added 56 GW all of last year, most from solar... China added 93 GW in a month. A MONTH!

Just for comparison, the last American nuclear power plant was completed in 2024. It took 11 years to build and cost $35 billion to generate ~1 GW of power. China does 96 of these in a month with Solar.

Elon is deeply upset about US energy policy so he is going to make his own to fuel his data centers... would not be surprised if he closes a huge solar deal w China for panels or invents a new way.

Its sad to see. Even worse here in UK. We pay 6x in energy bills than average EU household bill. Pathetic socialists!

Basically in percentage term us only generate less than 5% solar energy in comparison to China Annually.

The Chinese government has long-term strategic thinkers. They have set themselves up to be strong in energy by investing in alternatives hugely. The US lags because we thrash back-and-forth between one administration and another without any consistent vision. Sad.

"solar plants" are more expensive than natural gas by a longshot in the US. Please ask grok which is the cheapest solution in the us for a 500 MW plant...solar will require about 3 days of battery backup. We need better tech at home so solar at home is much much cheaper. Only ~10% of home solar are the panels. Noone in power is complaining about the damage done by fossil fuels. Not even the soot coming out of the diesel trucks and what it does to people who breath it. The deck is already stacked against clean energy.

Thorium can get is there, the problem is funding the R&D... it looks like the US abandoned it, but other countries are developing it. Thorium = nearly non hazardous. Also Plasma Converters are efficient, might need carbon process capabilities with it because they break things down to base materials. They can reduce ANYTHING to base molecular form/elements (waste, batteries, cars, oil).

Maybe if Mar a Lago goes underwater soon Trump will re-think his drill baby drill policies. When you add up the amount of money lost by fossil fuel use to climate change and and medical costs to breathing poisoned air it would not only be a financial problem, but could prove to be existential. Poison air, poison water, and Healthcare costs associated seems like it could be far more expensive.
