So you think AI is a nothingburger???

NVIDIA's market cap now represents a staggering 3.6% of global GDP, surpassing the entire economies of the UK, France, or Germany individually.

PS the EU has decided to regulate AI to DEATH. This will prove to be a bad move... actually a VERY BAD MOVE.

NVDA also accounts for 13.4% of US GDP.

WE ARE STILL VERY EARLY.... Real Value has yet to appear eg AGI, ASI from Tesla and xAI.

Too much Alpha and not Beta male energy in AI for Ursula Always Lyin!

I got out of nvda with a profit not too long ago. Anyone here buying at these levels?

Adam Toth

This is staggering but they should compare GDP to revenues not market cap. GDP is the movement of money, not a valuation of the economy, that would be approximately an order of magnitude larger.

Adam Toth

It is hard to compare as GDP double-triple counts many of the product parts moving through the supply chain, but still, revenue to country taxes or something similar would be a better comparison.

Richard James

*NVDA doesn’t account for 13% of US gdp. That’s a calculation based on its market cap not its actual contribution to gdp, which is much smaller (though still objectively massive) at ~$100B/year. But still that’s an order and a half magnitude smaller in terms of GDP contribution, at about 0.33%. Apples to apples. Otherwise you’d have to take NVDA market cap versus say, total value of all assets in US, which is in the hundreds of trillions. It’s a massive company but it’s not 13% either way.

Thekingpin

I need to get some nvda, late to that party.

Over regulating technology innovation is a recipe for diminishing returns on investment so yes companies and people will migrate to better locations.

"Starts with Energy..." Just learned about this today: AI to go nuclear? Data center deals say it's inevitable | CIO Fermi America, co-founded by Rick Perry, is planning to build the world's largest data center campus near Amarillo, Texas, powered by a mix of nuclear, natural gas, solar, and wind energy. The project, named Hypergrid, will include 18 million square feet of data centers and generate 11 gigawatts of power. The nuclear component will consist of four Westinghouse AP1000 reactors. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with the first gigawatt expected online by the end of 2026.

Hobbit

"First Gigawatt" must be from wind. Takes much longer to get a nuclear plant up and running but Amarillo has enormous wind farms.

I wish you'd do some DD on other chip makers to see if theres opportunity

If growth continues , its still a reasonable price. Problem if it growth slows and ai is a bit of a bubble

Hello James, I would like to ask you about one thing concerning Ai. Zeiss is building (or has already built) new, quite big, factory in Oberkochen. It is ment to enhance Zeiss SMT's production capacity for high-NA EUV optics by big margin. Are you able to look into this so we know how big this is or isn´t? Thank you a lot for your exceptional work.
