I get that some folks think solar energy is BS, but I believe China is bang on... Energy Per Capita ultimately translates to GDP per capita, and China is winning.

For the record 464GW is like creating 464 Nuclear Reactors - ...in just 12 months.!!!!

Check these stats:

China installed 464 GW of solar capacity in the 12 months to June

That's more than the total EU solar capacity as of 2024 (338 GW)

and DOUBLE the total US solar capacity (229 GW)

...in just 12 months.

China is leaving the world in teh dust.

Trump is making a big mistake turning his back on SOLAR. BIG MISTAKE!

Solar and Nuclear installed power is not the same, as the produced amount of energy is completely different. In China in average solar probably produces 4 to 5 times less energy than nuclear per power installed.

I love this post James. You always say changing one's position in light of evidence is a sign of intelligence. You've just shown us that. For years you railed against Germany for their solar. You went on and on about liberal or control, I don't remember everything you said. Even a few weeks ago, you were posting about nuclear lol. Now you understand the power and the economics of solar, especially with batteries. And you even admitted a Republican is making a mistake! Huge props to you, respect, appreciation!

James, Nuclear is far more efficient than Solar. A 1GW solar plant will take up approximately 50 Square Miles. Just let that sink in for a second. A Nuclear power plant of similar size will take up less than 2 Sq miles. From a real estate standpoint, our land is far more valuable than China’s. That’s why POTUS is not doing it. He knows real estate in the US is the most valuable asset we have, next to BTC, and why the SBR will be here at our massive AI and future data centers - which is the best use of our land!

SOLAR gives power back to the people. Nuclear (as discussed) = some big conglomerate company that will control prices. Choose your poison. (Nuclear I find interesting are the very small units being studies that can power neighborhoods safely.)
