This ruling says they used copyrighted materials without permission, which could lead to huge fines—billions or even hundreds of billions of dollars. This could change the whole AI industry.

Other AIs might also be exposed to similar legal risks if they used copyrighted material without permission.

I'm pretty sure all AI companies would have copyinfringed on others work. Too easy to do online. Art area specifically is a certainty. I hope this hurdle is overcome and competition in AI space is good!

This is hard to believe, Anthropic is billions $ company with DUMBA** lawyers working for them?

All you have to do is ask AI for a summary of [insert book name here] and voila! You have caused the AI to infringe copyrights. But it's ok so useful! Hehe

The war for control is ON.... Hmm I wonder why chatGPT an original open source project can't bankrupted for the same infringements!, could it be because Anthropic is much better at it's job 🤷🏼‍♂️.. I really hope someone saves it and doesn't actually happen

I mean Google infringes this almost on a daily basis.. I'm sure it did that with digitising books project too...

Btw this is what David Sacks said is the opinion of the administration as well. They will regulate it so.
