Berkshire Hathaway is loading up on this perfect zombie company. Half a billion dollars. I really have no idea what Berkshire and Warren are thinking.... THIS IS NOT A WINNING COMPANY!

Why do I think it is NUTS when they could be buying the biggest AGI play on Earth?

Well here are my reasons

1) nobody listens to satelite radio - even more dead than cable TV

2) If people do listen to radio, they prob do it in car! Platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music have overtaken radio by offering personalized playlists, vast libraries, podcasts, and ad-free listening on demand, often at competitive or lower prices.

3) Most people I know now prefer listening to youtube podcasts so they can learn..... not listen to some shock jock!

4) Stock lost 88% over the last 26 years.... 99% if you factor in debasement.

Granted, I never liked radio or TV... i have a 6.5 year model X and have never once turned the radio on - in fact I am not even sure how or if it even has radio. But it has tons of other choices

I'm from the UK (don't live there anymore sadly), but man I miss hearing BBC radio often. Good times remembering my Dad picking me up from high school, he'd have BBC Radio 2 playing away in our very second hand Vauxhall Cavalier. Haha! I feel like we lost something when decent high quality stations (and DJs) started to disappear.

I still enjoy radio from time to time; would I pay for for subscription? hell no.

Gone With TSLA

Outdated technology and outdated style of investment. In a way it's good that we are able to buy good stocks like TSLA cheaper.

Jeroen Thijs

Perhaps he anticipates war time where internet becomes unavailable and satellite tech is the only way of communicating

Alirow

Sirius - maybe look beyond the obvious…way beyond

Harvey

Wasn't Berkshire Hathaway a textile company at one point? Maybe he has similar plans for Sirius?

There are many drives in the Western US with large sections without cell service. Like the drive from Reno to Palm Springs, Reno y To ELI NV, Reno to Coeur d’Alene Idaho, and many more. People like Satellite in these areas or you have to constantly download from Spotify and end up listening to the same music over and over
