CheckonChain was giving levels in his topping cloud model; never stated a "this year" timeframe.

As always, I appreciate the team’s time. The 4 most dangerous words in investing are “This time is different”. IMHO, the cycles will continue until proven otherwise. Having said that, I can entertain the idea the drop will be less severe and the length of the bear will be lessened. To those FOMO buying into BTC because you think we’re going straight to $150k, unlikely, and/or you haven’t reached your allocation, it’s wise to recall the following. BTC dropped to the 200wma in 2019, 2020, and 2022-2023. 200wma is sitting @ $51k. If history rhymes, you will be able to purchase BTC at significantly less than today’s prices. 😉 Now, if you’re adding to exit when BTC is clearly overbought and the indicators point to a cycle top, then that makes sense, but buys now should not be thought of as HODLing for the next X years, other than a very small %.

I was intrigued by today’s DCA Monday episode where Marty suggested that lower interest rates could trigger a real estate market correction due to an influx of sellers increasing inventory, which he believes will lower prices. I respectfully disagree and think the opposite could happen—a potential surge in home prices. Here’s my take, inspired by James’s view that fiscal stimulus “floats all boats”: The “One Big Beautiful Bill” (OBBB) adds $3.4-$4.1 trillion to deficits over the next decade through tax cuts and spending, injecting significant liquidity into the economy. While not explicit QE, this stimulus could act like it, boosting demand as James has suggested with his comments on debt-driven economic stimulus. Lower rates (projected at 6% by 2026) will likely draw sidelined buyers back, especially in growing markets. Although inventory is rising (up 16.9% in 2025), it’s still below historical seller’s market levels, and the U.S. housing shortage (4-4.5M homes) supports price stability. I believe the OBBB’s liquidity and lower rates will drive demand, outweighing inventory increases and pushing prices higher, not lower. Am I off base here? I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from those with a deep understanding of real estate cycles and markets. Do you see a correction coming like Marty, or could stimulus and low rates fuel a price surge? Let’s discuss!

I think there would be a surge if people felt more financially stable but I think a lot of would-be buyers are insecure in their positions (with work) and may feel like taking on a mortgage in this environment is not the best idea. I’m voting for a housing slump if rates decrease. Also there’s a lot of housing being built. I don’t see a housing shortage. I see a shortage in certain places where people want to live. And that’s probably due to fewer small local banks providing money to businesses in smaller towns. Unfortunate, but business is moving to larger companies in larger cities.
