It’s almost painful to watch.

Ford’s latest EV production line reveal? A carbon copy of Tesla’s 2021–2022 playbook.

They say they want cheaper EVs — great in theory.

But here’s the reality:

  • Launch? Likely 2028.

  • Scaling? Add 1–2 years — now we’re in 2029.

  • They will have burnt thru additional billions and gotten nowhere

  • They talk like they invented the concepts... eg Structural Battery Pack

  • It appears they are going cheap on batteries whcih means the cars will lack performance (like VW Cars - PS Fun Fact the new Tesla Semi Articulated Truck is faster than all ID model VWs)

  • Self-driving? Nope. Performance? Still far behind Tesla in every way.

By the time they get there, the market will have moved on.

Too little. Too late.

Why not license Tesla’s ai-robotics manufacturing technologies?? That’s the ONLY way the USA will effectively re-shore manufacturing anyway… I’ve always wondered if that’s the reason Trump and Elon haven’t completely gone nuclear with one another. They still need each other!

The CEO, Farley, is either an idiot or delusional. It’s farce of a PR event plus his comments on how necessary LIDAR is for FSD that make me believe this.

If this will work for ford, Henry Ford must have turned over in his grave. Unfortunately he's still dead.

iroc007

Seems like market looks at this as competition to tesla.

If you ask Grok, which cars or trucks hold their value the best over the last 10 years, Tesla is not on that list, If you’re prioritizing resale value for a purchase today, consider the Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, or Porsche 911 for the best long-term retention. For cars, the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Toyota RAV4 are safe bets.

Too little, too late. Like usual Tesla competition.

At least they are trying. Let’s at least give them an E for effort.

This is like giving a kid credit for finally starting a project assigned in September of 2018... in summer school of 2025.

The average Tesla is driven over 90,000 miles. Depreciation is irrelevant to the average owner. It does make a great used car to buy for a new driver, though.

Mr R

Just like Mary, Jim led too!🙄

Mr R

Jim can license FSD. Then take credit for it!!
