A breakdown of my recent CRCL trade alert.

I know many of you were asking for yet another breakdown, so I worked w Jacob this morning on this and he nailed it.

Here are the KEY TRADING LESSONS from this 3 Legged Stool... my fave technique to PLAY WITH THE TABLES MONEY

1. Use Synthetic Longs to Exploit Imbalanced Option Pricing

  • Construct a synthetic long by buying a call and selling a put at the same strike (e.g., Jan 2027 $150).

  • If puts are expensive (due to fear and volatility from a falling price) and calls are cheap, you can open the whole trade for a small net debit.

  • In this example, it cost only $3 net to control the position, setting a breakeven at $153.

2. Sell Options When Volatility Spikes

  • Downside spike: Puts become expensive → Sell puts if you believe a bottom is near.

  • Upside spike: Calls become expensive → Sell calls to capture high premiums.

  • Selling during volatility spikes adds credits to your position and can eventually make it a net credit trade (getting paid to hold).

3. Time Entries Using Multi-Timeframe Analysis

  • Start with higher timeframes (daily, 4-hour) for directional confirmation.

  • Look for:

    • Mean reversion signals

    • Trend change confirmation

    • Oversold/overbought conditions

  • Once confirmed, zoom into shorter timeframes (3–5 min) for precise entries.

IADSS MAKES THIS VERY EASY - PS THERE IS NO WAY I COULD TRADE LIKE I DO WITHOUT THESE TOOLS... NO WAY....

4. Lock in Gains by Layering Trades aka 3 LEGGED STOOL

  • After opening a synthetic long, layer in call sales on short-term rallies.

  • Example: Sold Jan 2026 $200 calls for $22.50 credit during an intraday spike — turning the overall trade from a $3 debit into a $19 net credit.

Again I play with the Tables Money... I learnt this back in the day when I was addicted to Craps in the 1990s... I flew to casinos at weekends to play exclusively and 9 times out of ten I walked away with nice weekend gainers... to the point where casinos either closed down the tables or told me I was not welcome. Happened in Tahoe Casinos all the time.

5. Repeat for Long-Term Positions

  • Even if the stock stagnates or drops, repeatedly selling calls on spikes can offset costs until the position is fully covered or profitable.

  • Works especially well for stocks with long-term bullish outlook but high volatility (e.g., mining stocks in past trades).

6. Follow a Structured Workflow

  • Scan higher timeframes for mean reversion + trend change. 4 Hour is magical.

  • Confirm entry zone using shorter timeframes. I like 5 min.

  • Open position when volatility favors your trade structure.

  • Sell premium on opposite volatility spikes to reduce or eliminate cost.

  • Rinse and repeat — aim to turn positions into net credits.

Another one of my infinite money glitches that I share with you all.

When you sell the put, do you worry that the buyer may exercise the option, as you may have to find the money to buy the underlying share

When do you get out of the trade? You sold put and also a call) so I'm assuming there is a price range for you to stay in the trade. How do you decide?

Cpk2001

What is a good target entry for spot? I noticed it took a dip today to 145.

Hi Jacob! Thank you for this. I have a question you hope you can "circle" by James:-). The lockup period for CRCL is only a few weeks away, at which point there will be even more dilution on the stock. Why not wait for that moment to enter an SL? I am in this trade but need more conviction to DCA.

thank you james and jacob for the helpful break down! what supports your decision process on whether to open synthetic longs or leaps? in the recent sunday q&a, james advised to wait for big dips for purchasing leaps. from this breakdown it seems a synthetic long is also good when stock price is falling. is it a matter of synthetic longs for the long-term bullish yet volatile sentiment and leaps for your more long-term hodl equities?

Eric Good

Really good Jacob and very helpful. Appreciate you providing this training!
