INTRO
Incredible CRISPR breakthrough... note approximately 589 million adults (ages 20–79) are living with diabetes worldwide—about 1 in 9 adults. Considering how bad the food is, this is expected to explode to nearly 1BN people by 2050!

Diabetic Man With Gene-Edited Cells Produces His Own Insulin—No Transplant Drugs Required
A 42-year-old man with type 1 diabetes is once again producing his own insulin without immunosuppressive drugs following a CRISPR transplant. Researchers from Sweden and the US edited pancreatic cells in a targeted manner: they removed HLA antigens for foreign recognition and strengthened the immune-suppressing CD47 protein. Four months after the procedure, the modified cells are working without rejection.
The study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, demonstrates for the first time a functioning alternative to lifelong immunosuppression in organ transplants. Although only a proof-of-concept with a low cell dose, this approach opens up revolutionary prospects for the permanent cure of type 1 diabetes without the risks of conventional rejection drugs, such as increased susceptibility to infection.
