A lesson from NVDA

The title above 80% are millionaires ... but it goes deeper.

Roughly 50% of Nvidia, $NVDA, employees are now worth over $25 million.

The AI revolution is producing unprecedented wealth.

The fun news, it only just started.

Joke of the day

Remember this happening at Cassenoves bank when it went public. Even the receptionist became a millionaire. And I was at Morgan Stanley around the corner 🥴

Just James

What I find interesting is that they still work there and haven’t retired. This is a great reflection on the company and it’s ethos

Grok's response. The claim that 80% of NVIDIA employees are millionaires and 50% have a net worth of $25 million is likely exaggerated and lacks verifiable evidence. While NVIDIA’s stock surge and generous stock-based compensation have undoubtedly created significant wealth for some employees—especially executives, senior engineers, and early hires—these figures are implausible for the entire workforce of 36,000. A more reasonable estimate, based on stock compensation trends, suggests a small percentage (likely under 5–10%) may have reached millionaire status, with an even smaller fraction (likely under 1%) approaching $25 million, concentrated among top-tier staff. Without employee wealth data or a detailed survey, these remain speculative estimates.

Thanks Michael. And frankly, if that news WAS true; I would view it as a massive SELL signal. Why would anyone there stay motivated to produce if 50% of them have $20M+!? I’d be selling slowing and exiting. Wait!, I’m going to work even harder so my $20M is worth $40M!!…but the reality is that a net worth above $7M to $10M will create a lifestyle not much different than the person with $100M. Majority of people live simply and spend 30+ years learning to save, and as such, are really bad at learning to spend.

Ok, so else is looking on Tesla’s careers page for tea/coffee person roles!?

Doesn't bode well for NVDA teams to work hard, going forward, necessarily...but glad they "made it" ! How fun would it have been to be an NVDA employee the past 5 years?!

Dancing Horse
