As a Tesla shareholder, you own a piece of the company, one share = 1 vote, and that gives you the right to vote on key decisions like:

  • Reelecting board members

  • Approving executive compensation

  • Changing company rules (bylaws)

  • Strategic proposals (like investing in AI, adopting new policies, etc.)

These votes usually happen at the Annual Shareholder Meeting. You can vote online, by mail, or through your broker’s app (e.g., Fidelity, Schwab, Robinhood, etc.), depending on how you hold your Tesla shares.

Voting doesn't start until Tesla releases the “Definitive Proxy Statement” in a week or so.

This is a cheat sheet to help people understand the items and how one informed investor plans to vote. This is from Alexandra Merz

I voted the same as Alexandra Merz. That was very helpful, thanks James.

All these good meaning folks who fall for a slick phrase. How many times are you going to take the bait?

Mark the Shark

Voted the "AI and Alexandra" party line today :-)

I trust Elon’s judgment and prefer that it carry greater weight than a supermajority of shareholders when making corporate decisions. Unless I am misunderstanding no. 6, it would provide Elon and the board greater flexibility to respond quickly to strategic opportunities, reduce bureaucratic procedures for corporate actions to improve long term shareholder value, and avoid a small minority blocking changes. So why would we vote “AGAINST” on no. 6?

Anyone know how to proxy vote on Wealth Simple ?

Does IA agree with Alexandra Merz' voting then?

SoCalm

@InvestAnswers do you have your own cheat sheet or would you agree with Alexandra Merz? I still haven't voted my shares

Just the opposite, a supermajority requires say 67% or 75% of the votes to pass certain measures. Nobody has that many shares, but Elon has 14% so his 14% plus another 12% or 20% can veto a proposal if supermajority applies.
