The Senate Finance Committee, led by Sen. Mike Crapo, will hold a public hearing on how the IRS should handle digital assets

Main topics are tax related:

  • Taxes on DeFi, NFTs, staking, and airdrops

  • Proposal to allow up to $300 in tax-free crypto transactions

  • Power struggles between the IRS, SEC, and CFTC - who's jurisdiction is it anyway

This hearing won’t settle crypto taxes once and for all… but it will reveal where the big debates are.

If they say u can spend $600 in Crypto Tax Free that would be great for teh space.

$600 per transaction would be incredible.

My prediction: Another Nothing Burger!

The $300/$600 is talking about transactions spending your crypto for things you buy everyday. Coffee, groceries, lunch, dinner, etc No capital gains taxes on things like that.

If it's $300 -$600 per year, it's meaningless. If it's $300 - $600 per purchase it's wonderful. It would speed up adoption.

RyHo

I say make it ALL tax free. Tariffs only from now on. Lets get rid of the banks!!

$600 tax free is nothing :/

Theresa

Any purchase under $600 being tax free would be game changer, but not $600 per year! That's totally different

Investovania

don't settle for $600 per transaction. they are entitled to zero. it's our assets. they don't have the right.
