I lived thru both as an investor so I see some striking similarities and I love it.

In 1994, critics wondered if the Internet was just a fad — overhyped by the media and investors. Today, some say the same about AI: that it’s overhyped, that the outputs are shallow, or that the real impact is years away.

In 1994, many doubted whether the Internet could make money. “Why would people pay to be online?” was a genuine question. Today, critics ask: “Where’s the business model for generative AI?”

The only difference is AI today will accelerate 5 to 10 times faster...

As I recall, in 2000, there were literally no dotcom earnings in Q1, then the bubble burst. But, over the next 25 years the internet boomed. Same with the tulip crash. The following 400 years set Amsterdam as the flower capital of the world, as it is today. A bubble just seems to be a stop along the way.

Ai Boom or Bubble https://youtu.be/DPFNiLW_yqg?si=syk4FWn6yNBqEySG Boom can look very similar to a Bubble. In summary, based on 5 key metrics, and comparing now with the railroad, telecom, and DotCom we are not in a bubble, but instead in a Boom, but that doesn’t mean we won’t enter a Bubble. Great analysis and I found the following metrics covered in great detail with comparisons as intriguing. First video I’ve watched that didn’t just say this is the same as DotCom and sprinkle in CapX and high valuations. Worth a listen and I’d have to listen many times to pick up on all the details. Very thorough analysis.
