Bitwise are giving Blackrock a run for their money. Blackrock charge 25 bps for the BTC ETF. Well guess What. Bitwise are coming out with 20 bps for their SOL ETF? BTW the BTC ETF is now Blackrock's biggest money spinner.

How can Bitwise even do this?

The ultra-low 0.20% fee isn’t just investor-friendly marketing; it’s a growth catalyst. By staking the underlying SOL, the fund generates a powerful feedback loop: higher yields → larger AUM → bigger 0.20% management collections — plus an additional 6% skim on staking rewards (including MEV-boosted ones). At scale, this structure could yield Bitwise an effective 0.5–1%+ annualized revenue on principal, well above any standard ETF fees. Early fee waivers and reimbursements act as a temporary subsidy to fuel inflows, setting the stage for massive AUM once approval lands.

James or team, wondering if SOL proxies (dfdv, upxi) would be affected in a similar way that Bitcoin miners were affected when the bitcoin etf's came out, once the solana etf's go live (being that people can now buy their solana thru the etf's instead of having to purchase proxies). If I remember correctly all of the bitcoin miners struggled once the bitcoin etf's came into play. Please let me know if there is a better place to post that would help in getting it answered by James or team. Thank you

Will the SOL elf's reinvest the staking rewards? Or does Bitwise/Blackrock keep the staking dividend?

Guessing won't be in UK

When will Binance be held accountable for market manipulation/failing to provide proof of reserves? Is the Clarity Act our only hope?

CryptoBong

Good question. If they keep it I am happy to continue to buy spot and earn through staking.

@james - When approved, could you prepare a comparison of the various SOL ETF's to help us determine which one is the best? Low fees, high staking rewards, in-kind contributions & redemptions. TY!

Always possible that they are or become useful to someone who should be independent.......so maybe not for a long time. Would you put an Alchemist in jail or make him work for you? But hopefully, investor voices will be loud enough to stop it from happening sooner rather than later.

Yes, this would be so helpful! So many of us have SOL (pure form), but that's not an option in brokerage or retirement accounts, so these ETFs allow us to gain SOL exposure conveniently. But is it worth it? and which ETF would be the best bet?
