Elon Musk launched Macrohard in August 2025 — an xAI venture aiming to build an AI-powered version of Microsoft. The project uses xAI’s Colossus supercomputers to run thousands of AI agents that can write code, build apps, and run enterprise software on their own after setup.

Macrohard’s goal is to handle everything from cloud computing to business tools — basically, to reinvent how enterprise software works without human programmers. The name comes from Musk’s old joke about making Microsoft “hard” again, now turned real.

He’s hiring top engineers to create the AI sandbox, and given how outdated much of enterprise software is, I actually think he might pull it off.

This would cause MASSIVE DISRUPTION not only for enterprise software companies but also for the industries using them and the myriad of consulting firms maintaining all that old enterprise software.

It is remarkable the scale at everything they do

Is this going to be a separate company or all under the Tesla name?

Macrohard doesn't really roll of the tongue, but neither did Microsoft when they were new. We just got used to it. Still, I like the name. It is a poke at MS and makes some sense actually.

First task. Feed it all games from GTA1 to GTA5 then tell it to spit out GTA6 before they get around to releasing it in 7 months

Love disruption. Concerns: Vulnerable attack(aerial maybe) then disruption throughout work forces highly dependent on this structural base of ops in the future. Can it be structured in a more decentralized format to derisk being a centralized target?
