Someone just dropped $28 million on calls on TSLA stock with a strike price of $550 and an expiration date of January 16, 2026. Current Option Price (Premium): $16.20 per share (up $5.85 or 56.52% on the day). 17,284 contracts

Basically stock needs to go up 28% to make this profitable by Jan 16.

  • Absolute OTM Amount: $550 (strike) - $443.66 (stock price) = $106.34 per share.

  • Breakeven $550 + $16.20 = $566.20.

They are trading the fear/IV not because they think the stock will go up!! MS buys at the top, so do other hedge funds. Better for taxes....

If the stock goes up 5-10% in the next few weeks they can sell for 3-5x the profit compared to buying shares, they are not necessarily betting on 550 by January.
