France Proposes Global Taxation Policy

The French government has proposed a global taxation system as part of its 2026 national budget.

Under the proposal, French citizens relocating to countries with tax rates lower than France’s would still be required to pay taxes on their global income to France. It is clear if people flee, it will probably be to near zero tax base countries.

The measure is intended to prevent tax base erosion and ensure continued contributions from citizens who move abroad. Some UK wealth erosion data so far this year, ~$91.8 billion in associated wealth left (Henley estimate),

I expect more European nations to explore stricter global tax enforcement to address fiscal challenges and declining revenues. The dominoes will fall.
