Microsoft, Amazon, and Google’s cloud backlogs — basically, future sales already locked in — have exploded from $170B in 2020 to nearly $700B by mid-2025. Also another $500B from Oracle you can add on here.

  • Microsoft leads in total backlog, up 293% to about $368B.

  • Amazon (AWS) grew 243% to $235B.

  • Google Cloud grew fastest, 467%, reaching $108B.

This means companies have signed multi-year contracts to secure AI and cloud services — showing strong, lasting demand.

The growth accelerated after 2022 as AI spending took off, and there’s no slowdown in sight. This backlog equals several years of cloud revenue already booked, suggesting AI isn’t just hype — it’s becoming core infrastructure.
