I was happy for Maya, but so sad for Andy. She's had so much loss and I get what her dad's intention's were, but he should've been honest with her. I feel like their could have been a good middle ground of maybe making her take a week off and either talk to someone or get evaluated like Jack did after the skyscraper.

Andy thought she deserved to be made Captain mostly because it had been promised to her and honestly, that’s not a strong foundation to build on. As the show later makes clear, it just wasn’t her time. I truly believe Maya was the better choice, even if her Captaincy started off on shaky ground. She eventually became an amazing Captain, and let’s be real, a big part of that was thanks to someone who showed up a couple of episodes later and completely changed her life.
