Haha yes that is Davina from The Originals

The dinosaur follows Gert because there is a vent that goes from her room to the dinosaur and so it has heard Gert singing and just talking for years

Oh, I thought it was something more...supernatural than that, like she has a psychic bond with it, for some reason.

It does seem like a show that is more suited to binge-watch, which is what I did with the first 3 episodes since they released them all at once. It is a slower moving show, but it is interesting throughout. There are new things shown (or hinted at) in this episode. All of the characters (adults and kids) have their own stories and reasons for doing what they are doing. They will reveal all in due time. Oh, and someone shouldn't have told you/spoiled you about any lesbian stuff. That's not forefront and doesn't come right away. When you said that right off, I was like, "Uh, you shouldn't be expecting anything about that soon, so hold your horses."
