I don’t know if you read all the comments. I didn’t like the breakup either but it’s all about Damon’s insecurities that were brought back up due to Enzo coming back. Enzo calling Damon a monster really affected him.

Tbh with you I didn’t like you lashing out mentioning stefan and caroline digging about their past. The problem here is Damon, Stefan is not a saint and even he went same problem and guilt as Damon. You should feel sad for Damon because we knew that he changed and not the monster he used to. That means he feels things, maybe you should not expect too much about him (that’s what he always says btw). And Stefan rescuing Elena, believe me I don’t like Stefan to get Elena because I don’t like seeing your reaction about them together bc it hurts me but it was Damon who asked him since he had to deal with Enzo.

Hey Juli...i understand why youre upset i was too but dont think u should be that much, believe in Delena the ship we both adore & love ...the road to true love isnt easy, we have 3 more seasons to go and Damon is just thinking the worst of himself yet again and he's scared of changing Elena (his true love, the one person he loves more than anything) which is ridiculous but understandable considering what Enzo said to him and others like Stefan ..& caroline who constantly says Elenas different because of Damon, its a load of crap and i hate that Damon feels this way. Plus remember Damon is most likely overwhelmed with guilt & sadness right now as his emotions are on and hes just seen Enzo since leaving him to die. If you remember Damon killed Lexi mainly because when he saw her for the first time after having his emotions back on, all the guilt & pain of what he did to her came rushing in & he wanted it to end. ..... Hope you try and be positive about it as i don't want you to be mad or upset, believe in your ship no matter what happens..... the writers arent favouring Stelena ...and even Stefan broke up with Elena a couple times at the start of their relationship... also Delena are real ups and downs ..whereas Stelena arent real and were puppy love, i personally dont see any stelena scenes in the last couple episodes, i see it as friendship from Elenas side.

Exactly that's what I'm trying to say too. I find it funny she's saying Stelena is being favoured when fans have always complained about the opposite and the writers always favouring Delena lol. I agree believe in your ship!! have faith in them. couples break up and get back together all the time. There is literally no more triangle at this point. At least I haven't seen it since Silas and Qetsyah story ended.

Juli spray in at the flies with the bug spray was hilarious to me. I also agree with you about the Delena breakup. It came out of nowhere the only explanation I can think of is his guilt over abandoning Enzo caused him to sabatoge his relationship with Elena. Dr. Maxfield is just as much of a psychopath as he thinks Damon is because he can kill and torture people for the good of science (which is totally horrific, because he turned an innocent human being into a test dummy). I remember really feeling bad for Katherine at this point in the show and I hoped she would find a way out of the situation because I was really enjoying the Stefan & Katherine bonding.

I also see your POV about how the writers of the show constantly paint Damon as the bad brother even though they have both done horrible acts of violence and liked it. They seem to let Stefan reedeem himself more than they will ever let Damon because they never let Damon's character up until this point really accept the good and happiness that has come into his life since he fell for Elena.

Charlie

People, can you not ruin future episodes for her please. Just let her watch and judge it as it comes just like we all had too. :)

Not just on this episode haha. I was just saying in general we need to let Juli watch it normally without spoiling it for her.

Getting at Elena in that scene was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. I don't know what you saw but Elena was fighting, she was so in shock and I don't know about you but when being dumped I think sadness or anger is the first emotion you go to. She needed to process the situation first and understand exactly what Damon was going through, because not even you understood, that he was lashing out with his emotions from Enzo coming back. I don't think it was a stupid break up, or a dumb episode. All of this was just a necessary movement in Damon's character development and Elena's maturity growth.

That Caroline and Stefan comment was also a bit too much Damon has had the biggest redemption so I don't know where you're coming from with that. Damon has had seasons and seasons of redemption and is still getting more. If they just made him an amazing guy after one season you would be bored and not really care anymore and it gives the writers a chance to go back with it, which we don't want, kind of like caroline. She redeemed herself so quick that she then had chances like last season to go back on redemption. So it's kind of good that he still has this redemption storyline and is still going back and forth with his feelings about himself.

Sorry for commenting a lot but just one more, I think. If anything, the writers favorite Damon and Delena wayyyy more than Stefan and Stelena. Over the seasons, Damon has been seen to be the funny brother who you just love to see on screen. Stefan is kind of, KIND OF (KIIIINNND OF), boring compared to him. Now talking about ships. Season 3 was written perfectly and this is when Delena's growth sky rocketed. They tempted us with Delena all season making us fall madly in love with them and want them to be together. All I have seen this season so far is Stelena FRIENDSHIP not relationship (minus episode 4) FRIENDSHIP. Delana can't just be happy and the show wants them to not be together so that the fans love them even more. The love triangle is DEAD, GONE, ENDED. It seems like they don't like Damon but a good writer makes their favorite character do the dumbest things so it doesn't seem like they're favorite.

That’s right. Damon did what he always does- he ruins things when he gets reminded about the monster he is/can be.
