Re-watching this now, in my opinion it makes perfect sense to me that Shay betrayed Tyrion like that. When he first met her, he decided to tell her his full life story and tell her the story of how he fell in love with a whore and got married to her and all that. And there was Shay who had been paid by him and told that a Lannister who is like loyalty and rich fell in love with a whore and she seized the situation. She knew she could make him care about her, he had done it in the past and the wife was killed and she could tell that Tyrion had never really gotten over that. She was smart and I do think that the writers made their story go on for too long because we as the audience started to like and care for her as well so that's why when she betrayed him in the end we were all so confused. I hope this made sense haha. OH and btw the material that kills white walkers is called Dragon Glass not Dragon stone, which is why the connection wasn't so obvious.

One of my favorite things about this episode is the title, "The Children." I think it references the children of the forest, yes, but I think the entire episode focuses on each character's "children" and the way they effect their individual stories. Tywin's children... Cersei telling him about her and Jaime and Tyrion ultimately taking his life. Dany's children... Her dragons are her children, but I think she also sees the people who she protects and frees as her children (they call her Mhysa or "mother") and she decides to put one in chains to protect the others. And then of course Arya loses her last father figure, decides not to be a "child" anymore who is dependant on anyone, and strikes out on her own. How great and deep of a theme for one episode!!

Yeah, Shae appeared, in the end, to be an opportunist and Tyrion found that out when looking for his father and finds her in his bed. Oooh, that stings.

You're a believer of the Lord of Light, huh? My eyes got a bit wide when Melissandre was burning those people as sacrifices to the Lord of Light and going through all the names for him and one of them was Light Bringer. I was like, "Uh oh. Uhm another name, and pretty much a literal translation of the word 'Lucifer' is light bringer."
