Billieboi

Cersei obviously didn't know that Karma is a bitch XD

Thadman

The actor who played the blind maester was 90 years old and he did die not too long after this role. He had a long career as a great character actor.

Thadman

Ha! I totally forgot about Ghost coming to Sam's aid. "Oh, and have ya met my friend, Ghost?"

According to their laws, the church's laws supercede the royalty. So, Tommen would actually HAVE to start a war in order to go against the High Sparrow. It's definitely not Tommen's fault. Joffery wouldn't have been able to do anything either. He'd have huffed and puffed, but other people around him would have educated him and possibly smacked him. xD

Yep, just like Tywin (and you Juli) said, Cersei is not as smart as she thinks she is. Everything that befalls her is of her own doing and she doesn't learn. She keeps going in a self-destructive direction. She does devious things and they come back to bite her in the ass and they gets more angry at the negative results and lashes out (always at the wrong thing) which build more negativity and animosity towards her which backfires on her again and it goes on and on.

It didn't happen in this episode, but I did think about it during this ep is that one of my FAVORITE things on this show is when people underestimate Daenyris (sp?). People come to her with smug little smirks on their faces and scoff at this tiny girl who speaks proudly and is not at all physically threatening. I've learned to smile when people confront her and usually just chuckle. I say, "Oh, this is not gonna end well for you." I never know what she's gonna do, but I've learned to bet on her and not the seemingly bigger threat.

I agree with you in that this show has great feminist characters, especially considering the society it takes place in, but I think in that, they also show that you can have strong good female characters like Dany, Margery, Brienne, Arya, etc., but just because a character is strong (Cersei, Tywin, The Boltons) doesn't make them good or great. They are all interesting characters to watch, but some you root for their failure. I think that's why people have strong feelings against Cersei. She's strong, but she's cruel, spiteful and not that smart, so I very rarely root for her since she's almost always on the wrong side of things. Basically I view her as a cruel brat who's grown up. There are times I've felt bad for her, but those don't last long 'cause she comes out learning nothing. So, as a character, I don't like her, but I LOVE Lena Headey's portrayal of her. So good. She is now established in history as one of the all-time great characters you love to hate. The kid who played Joffrey did that also. He was AMAZING.
