Yea there kinda is a big age difference but in Italy the age of consent is 14 so it was normal. Especially in the 80s

I don't feel like it's THAT big of an age difference though (since Oliver is 24).. but I guess it's up to the individual to decide what is and what isn't. For me, the more noticeable thing isn't the age difference itself but rather the fact that Elio is 17. If we were talking about Elio being 22 and Oliver 29 no one would bat an eye...but yeah, I didn't mind it either

The scene near the end with Elio and his father is probably my all-time favourite movie scene, ever! it completely broke me....I've never had such an emotional reaction to anything the way I did that scene (at least when it comes to movie and stuff that isn't IRL).
