You will definitely understand the purpose of Enzo's death in the rest of the episodes for the season. You don't have to drain the whole cure from the body to be cured. Silas had to do it to be cured but it seems that if they take it from Elena. They don't need to drain it all. I'm surprised you didn't have a bigger reaction to Stefan becoming human.
