So I know that I am posting this 4 years later lol but I gotta say that I don't think Mouth in any way FORCED Shelly to have sex with him. She obviously already did want to be with him in that way but felt that she needed to uphold this image of the "clean teen" that she created for herself after being pretty "friendly" before that, getting her heart broken and having an abortion. I do agree that Mouth was laying down a bit of a guilt trip when they were talking and he should have just respected her stance; but he was also feeling heartbroken and pushed away by almost every girl that he's ever had feelings for so he was feeling in that moment like he wasn't good enough for anyone. But looking back on that scene, he had actually walked away from her and then she followed him into a empty bedroom. Like he's obviously in love with you and wants to be with you but if you don't want that then why did she not just leave him alone at the party? I get that she wanted to check on him to see if he was ok but she knows that he's not ok and he's heartbroken that she dumped him right before the prom so really unless she's there to take him back she should have just let him be and heal in his own time. Even on the bed, she jumped on him and took his shirt off, mouth never initiated the physical contact. Again yes I do feel like what he way saying was guilting her into it but at the same time I don't feel like he entirely forced the situation either.

How about one last binge for S5 tomorrow? Or should I wait a little longer?

whatever you are able to do in your free time <3

J

Don't push yourself, but if you can do it then I think one last season 5 binge would be AMAZING!

JuliDG

Why are you guys so good to me? I love you guys! Thank you for supporting me no matter what 😘😘😘❤️

Dani

It's up to you, but I'm always up for a OTH binge. Season 5 is so good!!

J

Yea Skills was definitely about to punch Q and if he wasn't his student then I think he would have. Uncle Tom is a very racist name to call a black person, especially when it is being said to you by another black person. It basically means calling someone a traitor, a traitor to their black culture, and being okay with being a slave to white folks which is why he said "Master Lucas". So....yea if Q wasn't his student Skills was bout to lay him out lol.

heather

This is where my favorite storyline of OTH begins- Nathan’s “comeback”!! I absolutely LOVE the relationship between Q and Nathan, which will be seen more throughout the rest of the season! And also between Q & Jamie- it’s so cute!! Brooke is so amazing for taking in that little girl until she has surgery. This season is when Brooke became my favorite character, and her growth during the rest of the series is just incredible to watch! I’m so glad Haley is making an album with Peyton... she really deserves it! Nanny Deb is here lol😁

miah.sun

ahh yes I love Brooke so much. She really does have so much love to give. The way she looked at that baby...the light shined through her eyes. Also when Brooke wakes up in the morning and the first thing she thinks of is herself "brooke" is sooo funny. I love her personality. I'm glad you're loving her so much. You should definitely adopt her as your child lol

SugaKookie

Karen, Lily and Andy travel the world together, i think thats the reason they have a boat. Im not sure of the specific episode but it was in the beginning of the season, when Lucas was talking to Jamie and he gave him a postcard of where Karen was currently visiting and Jamie had a map on his wall and all the postcards that Karen sent to him were placed in the spots they visited. Just wanted to clear a lil confusion up for you on that part.

Yessss, Nathans comeback storyline and Brooke being a mom storyline are 2 of my favorites of this season.

miah.sun

The scene with Q crying was soo sad. I think we can see how much basketball means to him, just like Nathan. And also needs that scholarship. I think that may be part of his extreme attitude this episode because I think that we have seen him start to mature in other ways (doing better in school, being more respectful). But I do think that Q pushing Nathan was so necessary. He may have been a bit harsh but Nathan gave up too easily when he was doing bad. If he is going to make a comeback, I think Nathan needs to be pushed.

Nathan

Welcome to the Brooke Davis Fan club. It’s a full bus we’re always willing to make room for more.

miah.sun

And yes Jamie is the cutest kid. I don't know how they found him because he is perfect for this role.

Nathan

About Brucas: Yes, Juli. You aren’t crazy. There are definitely underlining tones in Brooke and Lucas’ scenes and it’s been happening throughout the entire season so far. Not gonna spoil anything of course, the thing is, Brucas had a large fan base at the time and the show runner would address this in interviews how loud and vocal the Brucas fans were and so they would purposely write in things that were very suggestive in order to give us hope that maybe one day they would come back to that relationship. It was straight up Brucas bait. Whether that will happen or not is another story but you’re absolutely right about those scenes.

I share the same feeling about the girls' storylines changing now that they're adults. Don't get me wrong I love their teenage years and we got some extraordinary growth and exploration there, but the adult years now (starting with season 5) really showcase that our leading ladies are about so much more than punching cheerleaders and getting into messy love triangles. They are grown-ass women now and they have careers and dreams and adult issues that they deal with. Sure, their love lives are still an important part of who they are, but we get to shift focus here a bit more and see them grow outside of all of that too. I think that's especially true for Brooke. Sure, she had stories outside of Lucas/Peyton in the first few seasons too (I especially loved her becoming student council president and the start of her clothing line), but she was very involved in the love triangle of it all and that just sometimes took away from exploring other parts of her life. Now that she's a grown-up and fully over the whole Lucas drama, she can realize her dreams and find success and fall short on both too and you get to see how strong and empathetic she is and how the experiences she had in high school shaped her to be independet, confident and smart. She also kept her big heart, no heartbreak could destroy her ability to be open and vulnerable and extremely loyal to her friends. That's why we love her so much.

I think my personal opinion about season 5 is that it is in the middle between all the seasons. I really love Brooke's development (with her mother and potential motherhood) and Naley's way back to each other (and their dreams) and Jamie ofc. The only thing about that season that I didn't like was Lucas's behaviour towards Lindsay and Peyton - he hid his history with Peyton from Lindsay, kissed Peyton at the club, wrote an entire book about Peyton and then was pissed that Lindsay thought that was a big deal and to top it all off he STILL DOESN'T SEE THAT HE LOVES PEYTON and drags Lindsay through a proposal (with the ring meant for Peyton!!) and a wedding (for which he invited TWO EX GIRLFRIENDS) even though literally everyone in his life told him that he still loves someone else. ugh that had to be said, sorry. So my ranking still goes S3 > S7 > S9 > S4 > S5 > S6 > S2 > S1 >S8 - but S4,S5 and S6 are reeeeaaaaaally close together. I think S6 has a similiarity to S5 in the sense that it has a few extremely great storylines and just one storyline that makes my eyes roll (which in S5 was Lucas's treatment of his love interests).

Ellie-Jane

I absolutely love Brooke and this plot (and everything moving forward) is probably my favourite of hers. I appreciate her growth away from any love interest the most and it's highlighted a few times here. This was the point she started becoming one of my absolute favourite characters of all time. The way she looks at that baby like it's the purest thing in the world. She has a heart of absolute gold! I love that Peyton was so quick to take Haley on and produce her record, I think it's what they both needed and it's lovely seeing them supporting each other. Also YAY Nanny Deb is here!

I gotta say I love your ranking! I rarely see season 7 so high on a ranking but it's also one of my favourites!!

I think Q at this point still needs to learn to keep his temper in check, which is something Nathan has started to learn too. They're both very much alike actually.

Jared Scoggin

Now you know why we love Brooke so much. I love that we get to see what amazing person she has become. She had so much potential In early seasons, but she was so insecure—for good reasons—and she let that hold her back. I think from the beginning you realize that whenever she is true to herself and tries to be more than what other people see of her then she truly shines.

Claudio Cristovao

I absolutely love Brooke's storyline this season and the next, s5-6 kind of tie in together so nicely.

Nathan
>>39858936

“That’s why we love her so much” Literally right before I got to that sentence I had said “that’s why I love her so much”. I agree with everything you said. Juli is making me love the adult years even more than I already do.

Nathan
>>39860514

Same though. Watching the show the first time I didn’t even realize that Brooke had become my favorite character nor did I realize the precise moment it happened. But it was definitely around this time and the fact that she wanted to fill the void in her heart by having a family.

Juliana Loise

Brooke is a Queen! Her growth to the series is unbelievable, I love her so much 🤩🤩

Sara Peterson

this is the Brooke we've all been waiting for you to get to lol <3

fry

i love how much you love brooke lol

fry

this is going to sound awful but i think killing keith was the best thing for dan because that was the thing that forced him to change and TRY to be better, along with jamie, but dan is finally on the verge of redemption that just wasn’t there before but now it actually feels sincere

fry
>>39853947

yes! i have been waiting for her to adopt brooke lol

fry
>>39855315

such bait it was so annoying i hate when writers toy with the fans like that

Jamie Sawyer

Oooooooohh, I’m so anxious for you to hit season 6🔥🥵!

Dydra Arnold

I love your comments Juli. You pick up on so much and take the time to analyze each character. That’s probably my favorite part of watching all of these reactions. ☺️

Enzo

Brooke’s storyline about Angie really is really and heartbroken, can’t wait for you to react to the 4 remain episodes because there is a lot to unpack about the relationship she will develop with that baby. Season 5 is the only season I love Brooke so much as I already told I never was a big fan of her character outside of this amazing storyline that made me cry 83737 times 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ Season 6 is even more awesome because I always felt like in season five they dragged out the storyline between Peyton and Lucas, it’s just poorly written seems like we back to high school and that’s so déjà-vu w/ Brooke. I don’t ship Brucas and I 100% like them as friends. Also glad to see Haley be w/ Peyton! I always felt like their relationship was not developed enough as it should has been. Idk why tho... they could have been so great together but Mark decided otherwise :/

Enzo

can’t wait for the bingeeeee

Juliette

I love Quentin so much

Michelle

Hi Julie. I am not able to view the Lens watch. Will you be posting the reaction normally?

Leora Nechama

Chase was really cute here I don't know why they didn't attempt to put him and Brooke back together now that they're older and both in Tree Hill. He clearly still likes her.

Leora Nechama

Also I love how proud you are of Brooke. Same. I love her.
