Juli, I wanted to comment and say that you or anyone else shouldn't blame you for Josh's accident. Things like this happen sometimes and you aren't to blame. You are a great mother and are very attentive to Josh, You were taking time to do your job and Josh wasn't alone. Please don't be too hard on yourself. Thank you for the update! I hope his appointment goes well Monday.

you are not to blame! things happen, and honestly i agree with you, i think it’s great that you’re not treating josh like a baby 24/7, a sheltered life like that is not going to help him grow as an adult, i know from experience that being coddled all the time stunts you. so i don’t think you did anything wrong nor do i think anyone is to blame

Sara Peterson

You didn't do anything wrong. It's totally natural as a mother for you to feel that way, your baby gets hurt and you wonder if there was anything you could have done. And maybe you could have. But things happen. When I was about 7 or 8 years old, I accidentally stabbed myself in the eye with a pencil. I had an itch on my face and so I used the pencil I was using for homework to scratch! I don't know how it happened but I literally stabbed myself in the eye and I had to wear an eyepatch for like a week! I was just in my room doing homework. Things happen and sometimes kids do have to hurt themselves that way because that's how we learn. I know my grandma was very much like your mom -- she'd get so upset when my brothers would like be running during the summer because what if they fall! And my moms response was always "then they fall". Josh is a growing boy, he's gonna do stupid things and sometimes he's gonna get hurt and it isn't your fault

Hi juli, you have nothing to feel ashame of. Don't blame yourself because we can't be 24/7 with our kids and watch their every moove. It's impossible. To grow they need to make mistakes, then learn from them and live by themselves even if as a parent it is the hardest thing to do. You did everything you could, like always. I see you as a very attentive and carefull mother. Every kids would be happy to have you. Take you for these news, take care.
