It's only that high if you count the multiple parts. iGo To Japan has 2 extra parts and iFight with Shelby Marx is technically a 2 part episode so there's 24 individual episodes, but only 21 unique episodes.

I love this episode the whole thing with Melanie vs Sam is hilarious which if you didn't know are both played by Jennette McCurdy so technically still a Seddie moment lol. I think this really shows Freddie's inner feelings though as he's willing to go on a date, kiss, and slow dance with someone who he believes is Sam and he's also satisfied with knowing that it was Sam who kissed him during their date since he believes that Melanie is fake.

Something I always like about this episode is how Freddie really is so stuck in the belief that Melanie is Sam and how that is reflected in his confusion during the date. Especially in that convo on the dancefloor he's assessing his relationship with Sam as a whole and wondering when it got to the point that his 'frenemie' would be able to pretend to like him. The funny thing is Freddie goes on thinking he went out with and kissed Sam so in his mind their relationship has shifted even more.

the fact that freddie really thought he was on a date with sam and wasn't disgusted by dancing with her or holding her hand (only assuming SHE was disgusted), just proves he has no real disgust towards her. ALSO he always says YOU hate me, never /I/ hate you or /WE/ hate each other (here at least). I also find it interesting that Sam is okay with him thinking they made out and danced. If she really hated him and was grossed out, she would insist and gag at the thought of him thinking she would kiss him. Also, she allowed him to think he was right cause she knew he wanted to be. AH the progression is amazing. Sam HATES being thought of as wrong and she has too much pride to accept that (like when she cried over not doing well at her job and didn't want freddie to see her crying and being weak).

So I have a crazy theory for this episode. There was a spin off to this show called Sam+Cat and Melanie shows up and helps Sam out. So I do believe Melanie is real and I believe when Freddie asks Melanie to go out it really is Melanie. However, I believe Sam is with Freddie on the actual date. I believe Melanie helps Sam to look like her and act like her.

It's interesting cause the actor who played Chuck and the actor who played Gibby were the same age but I guess Chuck didn't hit puberty yet so he passed for younger.
