Man, at some point while making this it just suddenly became one of my favorite pieces I've ever worked on. It's certainly still not perfect, but I dunno, it's hitting a lot of the right notes for me.

There are two special techniques I used here, one of which I've only used once before, and the other of which is completely brand new.

The first is chest collision. I almost never do this, but I decided to give Flin's chest true collision so it could create a satisfying "squish" feel with Amy's boobs (I also did this last month with Flin and Kelly, and in fact I think some of that work is being re-used here).

The second technique I used was Grease Pencil for the outline rendering on the cleavage. This allowed me to do something that I didn't know was possible: I was able to render an outline on a mesh intersection.

Normally, without any interference, the regular render in Blender looks like this:

Notice the lack of any real cleavage outline. Now, I was mostly fine with that, but do you see the tiny outline segment right around her sternum? That bit was inconsistent, flickering, and annoying. So I figured I'd try to override the whole thing with a full cleavage outline.

But here's the problem: Freestyle, which is the Blender method I use for giving the characters outlines, Freestyle cannot detect mesh intersections. That means it couldn't draw an outline there from this angle.

Grease Pencil

This officially marks the first time I've ever used Grease Pencil in a useful way. I always thought it sounded super cool, but I assumed you needed drawing skill to really leverage it. Turns out, you can easily leverage modifiers based on a mesh to get much easier results.

Grease Pencil, it turns out, is capable of detecting mesh intersections! So after adding it in and tweaking a lot of settings, I had this:

Which is great, except I only wanted that middle curve, really. The boobs intersected Amy's body and Flin's arm and chest, but I didn't care about any of that. So then I just made a new mesh that blocked out everything except that curve, used it as a mask in the compositor, and it led to the finished result above.

I found this exciting because for my next game, I'm looking to analyze different methods for creating outlines, and up until now I just didn't realize Grease Pencil was a proper contender without being hand-drawn on.

---

In any case, I'm also happy with the thick thigh jiggling. Lookit that little impact jiggle.

I'm gonna need to reuse this one, probably for everyone (except Stella - UNLESS making a smaller boobs version with Stella might help amplify the power here by contrast, hmmm...).

Enjoy ~🎵💕

When does the new update come out

flinpaltwell

I'm afraid I don't give time estimates anymore because it's so difficult to predict, but it's going to be a while. There's a lot to do, and since this is the final update, I'm probably going to get caught up in a cycle of "oh, this is my last chance to add this or change that," so I'm even less certain than usual on how long it will take.
